What is Quickfest?
Quickfest is an international film festival. Festivals will be based on different format, with our current festival being a 10 day film festival.
What is a timed hour film festival?
A film festival where filmmakers compete to complete a work envisioned, shot and edited in a timed period (such as 48 hours, or an extended number of days); usually requiring certain genres and/or elements to be included in the film.
Who are the filmmakers?
Pros, amateurs, filmmakers from every corner of the planet can enter.
What are the films about?
As long as the filmmaker abides by the elements required in the competition, they can be about anything.
How long are the films?
The minimum and maximum length will be posted for each festival along with the required elements. An example would be if the genre was commercials, then you might be required to be :30 or :60 seconds exactly. Generally films are 2-8 minutes. For Quickfest 103, entries will be 30 or 60 seconds in length.
Where and when are the films shown?
For now, exclusively on the internet.
How much does it cost to enter the festival?
There is currently no fee for filmmakers to enter Quickfest.
When will details be announced?
Filmmakers on the Quickfest mailing list will be notified of the festival rules on at 1:00 PM (PST) the day the contest is to begin.
When will entries be due?
For the current 10 day film festival, entries will be due Sunday, August 2nd at 11:59 PM (PST)
How will films be submitted?
To upload films, select Watch Films and log in to your Quickfest account. Once logged in select ‘add a video’. To submit production photos, use 'add a photo'.
When will winners be notified?
Winners will be posted to the Quickfest website one to two weeks after the festival has ended.
Who is judging the festival?
A panel of industry professionals will be judging all films entered to Quickfest. The names and bios for current and past judges can be seen here.
What will the winning filmmakers receive?
Prizes are to be announced soon.
